[ The last time he saw her, they didn't even acknowledge where she was going. He'd let her go, trusting her implicitly, and he'd died without ever having the chance to say goodbye.

Except that in the final moments, he'd felt that she was with him. That by letting himself die, he would enable her to win.

Everything about those last few months had been dire, full of fear and pain and quite frankly, he'd never expected to be able to say anything to her ever again.
