private } kylar, significantly later after much argument

Get over here right now or I'll find you and break your neck.

[But in a friendly way.]

spam } open, after the above

[There seems to be no way to get away from the ka'kari, at least not until this flood has run its course, so Vin does her best to just deal with it. Which is not to say she appreciates being almost senseless and frustratingly weak, nor that she seeks out company, but she doesn't hide away entirely, either.]

[More than anything, she can be found in the gym and in the CES, pushing her body to its current limits with a look of extremely bad-tempered concentration.]

( ooc; vin has kylar's ka'kari, which is mostly sassing her, making her invisible, giving her cool metal armor, and magical absorption and judgment as outlined here. i'm kind of winging it so hit me up in a pm if you have questions? yeah!! )

gym spam, throughout } alpha & open

[The equipment here doesn't last very long - at least not when the death toll doesn't work, because Vin feels compelled to take her anger out on things that can be repaired and don't need to be brought back. She spends a great deal of time beating the stitches out of punching bags. Anyone who looks at her sideways will feel her cold fingers on their emotions, pushing and pulling until they feel what she wants them to.]

[When she's sufficiently placated, she takes the punching bags over to Alpha and dumps them in front of him with a sullen look.]

You'll need to fix these.

deck spam, monday morning } stark & open

[The stars frighten her, a little bit. So she faces them, staring them down for hours at a time until her frustration builds to the extent that she has to take it out on someone. The pattern will be old hat for those who remember their time here: she watches for an hour, then paces for an hour. The third hour is when things get dangerous.]

[At the beginning of this cycle, she makes her way to Stark's side in silence, huffing her way through the smoke of Maledictions and leaning heavily against the rail in a way that entirely hides her natural grace.]

Your inmate wants to reason with you.

[Which is indescribably hilarious.]

spam, tuesday } bea, later arya

[There are things that, when said to Vin, start a reaction that can't be stopped. It's slow, certainly; she's never been a planner or a schemer but she does occasionally think, and her lack of purpose draws her response time out beyond that.]

[On Tuesday morning, she starts following Bea. She doesn't bother trying to hide her intentions. They should be clear, and after all, Bea asked for this.]

( ooc; vin is alpha's warden and also a lawnmower. she went with zane and became a murderhorror with abandonment issues. anyone who has ever betrayed her has been murdered or been at the other end of an attempted murder. she ranges between utterly flat affect and petulant childishness. she also is free with rioting & soothing. find her anywhere and everywhere, even if it's not mentioned in one of these sections! )

vin.
[Serafina told Vin that she had to do this - not just for the witches, but for everyone; not just for the people in this world, but for the people in all worlds. When Vin asked for further explanation, she received none, with Serafina's apologies. It wasn't that she wouldn't say; it was that she just didn't know.]

[Vin's love for her clan, for her people, is strong enough to overcome her distaste for being so close to so many people. She is capable of passing (most of the time) as a woman like any other, though Hal has to take care to stay close to her, not to stray. It makes her skin crawl, and his too, and they can't ever do it for more than a few hours at a time.]

[While they manage, they infiltrate. Vin is capable, when at her best, of seeming as high or low society as she likes. When she speaks to the Gyptians, she is almost honest in her bearing, even telling a few higher-ups of her goal: to gather intelligence on the General Oblation Board and its doings. Some of the very old men remember her. Some of them don't.]

[In high society, no one remembers her. All of those who were alive the last time she was here were so small that they have no memory at all of that time, or else don't believe there could be a witch among them. (She has been here before. There was a man. But he died.)]

[She flits among them like a butterfly, primped and polished and vapid. Only her eyes go sharp every once in a while: not enough to give her away entirely, but odd, absolutely.]

[At night, she can hide in the shadows. She can listen to clandestine meetings. And later, she can fly on her pine branch through the clouds that cling to her clothing like lovers' fingers. They don't want her to go, oh no. They want to love her.]

[It's good. Because she loves them. In the sky, that's the only time she truly smiles.]

public } voice

[While her voice isn't hesitant, it's definitely quiet. She still doesn't quite understand the point of the network, but now that she's been paired it'd probably be more noticeable not to say something.]

I'm Vin. I arrived here a few weeks ago, and I've spoken to - some of you. I'm a warden.

[She considers leaving it at that, but decides against it.]

I'd like to know about other people's worlds. I don't know very much about Earth, but that's not where I'm from. So it would be useful.
